Below is an ad in response to the recent campaign ad by President Obama which attempted to politicize a military action for the President's gain.

A Test of Socialism

An economics professor at Texas said he had never failed a single student before but had once failed an entire class. The class had insisted that socialism worked and that no one would be poor and no one would be rich, a great equalizer. The professor then said okay, we will have an experiment in this class on socialism.

All grades would be averaged and everyone would receive the same grade so no one would fail and no one would receive an A. After the first test the grades were averaged and everyone got a B. The students who studied hard were upset, and the students who studied little were happy. But, as the second test rolled around, the students who studied little had studied even less and the ones who studied hard decided they wanted a free ride too, so they studied little.
The second test average was a D! No one was happy. When the third test rolled around, the average was an F.

The scores never increased as bickering, blame and name-calling all resulted in hard feelings and no one would study for anyone else. All failed, to their great surprise. And the professor told them that socialism would ultimately fail because the harder to succeed, the greater the reward, but when a government takes all the reward away, no one will try or succeed.

Why Pacifism Will Never Work

3. the principle or policy that all differences among nations should be adjusted without recourse to war.

In my post yesterday I mentioned that a so-called conservative friend on my facebook page had posted a video from The Iraqi Veterans Against War website which displayed an Iraqi veteran ranting about the illegal war he was forced to take part in and his belief that this war was some conspiracy by the rich corporate types to keep poor people in their place. I don't remember all of it off the top of my head as I was slightly agitated by the stupidity of his claims, but it did make me want to research his pacifist belief system and comment on it a bit.

Pacifism, in and of itself, doesn't sound like a bad idea. In fact, I would be happy to support pacifism and become a pacifist myself at the point that I could be assured all evil in the world had been eliminated and that every other member of this world was now also a pacifist. As soon as the U.S. Pacifist Party can confirm this to me I am onboard. Until then, I contend that the entire philosophy is dangerously flawed. The bumper sticker type logo displayed on the Party's website states:

"Defense By Nonviolent Resistance"

My question is this...what type of defense would this be?

Let's say that another country dislikes us, I know, I know, try to use your imagination. Let's say this country begins building up their armies and their weaponry...just for the sake of the purely hypothetical example, let's call this country...Iran. Imagine they start making threatening statements about our pacifist nation. We now, as a pacifist nation must implement our "defense by nonviolent resistance." Would this defense include attempting to speak to them and convince them that we mean no harm? I know this is a stretch, but let's imagine this doesn't deter their aggression.

They are now threatening to invade and/or destroy us with a nuclear device. What is our next step in the "defense by nonviolent resistance" ladder of escalation? Would we all hold hands and sing Kumbaya as they invaded, in the hopes that they might see us not resisting and feel guilty. I honestly have no idea how this would work, so I decided to take a look at the party platform for the last election. Certainly this will clear things up and show how pacifism will succeed. This is what they have listed:

"Preparation for nonviolent resistance against possible invasion and occupation attempts; This would include establishment of a national Department of Peace, and an unarmed service corps trained in strategic nonviolent defense and equipped for mobilization anywhere in the world"

Ahhhh!! Now I feel safer about the whole situation. We would establish a national Department of Peace. Maybe we would even have a Secretary of Peace that would certainly deter aggression. Furthermore, we would have a Service Corps which would be trained in strategic nonviolent defense and equipped for mobilization. My first thought is...what are they to be equipped with? Happy face stickers? Make Love Not War signs? Seriously, what does a nonviolent Service Corps deploy with? How well would you sleep at night knowing that an unarmed corps of peace advocates stand ready to defend you and your family? Furthermore, what type of training is included in their "strategic nonviolent defense" schooling? Strategic surrender 101? Laying in Front of Tanks 201??

As I stated before, pacifism itself is a nice idea, but it is based on the flawed theory that with enough education and enlightenment, human beings will eventually evolve to the point that they will no longer have any selfish desires which would cause a want of power or greed. I do not find this to be a realistic possibility whatsoever, and this is ultimately what will cause pacifism to fail in every setting.

I believe C.S. Lewis explained the flaws better than any:

"We must increase by propaganda the number of Pacifists in each nation until it becomes great enough to deter that nation from going to war. This seems to me wild work. Only liberal societies tolerate Pacifists. In the liberal society, the number of Pacifists will either be large enough to cripple the state as a belligerent, or not. If not, you have done nothing. If it is large enough, then you have handed over the state which does tolerate Pacifists to its totalitarian neighbor who does not. Pacifism of this kind is taking the straight road to a world in which there will be no Pacifists."

DON'T WORRY ABOUT DETAILS SHEEPLE, THERE WILL BE CAKE AND ICE CREAM AND HEALTHCARE FOR ALL!!‏

It is becoming increasingly clear that the radical left of this country led by President Obama have underestimated the American people and their ability to research, study, and get actively involved in ensuring their "representatives" are actually "representing" them when it comes to healthcare. To be honest, I am somewhat surprised at the recent success of individual Americans finally rising up to protest the rampant power-seizing being conducted by this administration which contradicts the United States Constitution almost on a daily basis. After last years election, when it seemed everyone had become brainwashed into the "hope and change" speeches, I was under the pessimistic impression that the majority of Americans had become unconcerned with the political details of what bills their leaders supported, and more concerned with mesmerizing oratory concertos. I will now happily admit I was wrong.

The reinvigoration of the American people's involvement into politics and the direction of this country could not have taken place without the left-wing statists pompous assertions that the American population would blindly support all of their policies without looking into the fine print. It has long been the far-left's achilles heel...their continuing belief that they can mix up their potion of:

1 part- class warfare, 2 parts- villification of one or more classes, 3 parts- government bill which promises to rescue the wronged, punish the perceived villain, and create utopian existence; mix well and top with enthusiastic speeches by world class orators...

and the American people will blindly trust that they have their best interests in mind without looking any further into the actual details of the legislation, which removes a little more of their freedom. I am so inspired by the re-awakening of us "Average Joe Americans" (the"AJA", if you will) that I have downloaded the actual healthcare bill and have done a little research to debunk all of the liberals who continueto lie (yes, I said LIE...A SPADE IS A SPADE) about what is or isn't contained in the bill.

1. A GOVERNMENT COMMITTEE WOULD DETERMINE WHAT BENEFITS INDIVIDUAL AMERICANS RECEIVE OR ARE DENIED

page 30, section 123- SEC. 123. HEALTH BENEFITS ADVISORY COMMITTEE.
(a) ESTABLISHMENT.-
(1) IN GENERAL.-There is established a private-public advisory committee which shall be a panel of medical and other experts to be known as the Health Benefits Advisory Committee to recommend covered benefits and essential, enhanced,and premium plans
(2) CHAIR.-The Surgeon General shall be a member and the chair of the Health Benefits Advisory Committee.
(3) MEMBERSHIP.-The Health Benefits Advisory Committee shall be composed of the following members, in addition to the Surgeon General:
(A) 9 members who are not Federal employees or officers and who are appointed by the President.
(B) 9 members who are not Federal employees or officers and who are appointed by the Comptroller General of the United States in a manner similar to the manner in which the Comptroller General appoints members to the Medicare Payment Advisory Commission under section 1805(c) of the Social Security Act.
(C) Such even number of members (not to exceed 8) who are Federal employees and officers, as the President may appoint. Such initial appointments shall be made not later than 60 days after the date of the enactment of this Act.

Note how many members of this board are directly or indirectly appointed by President Obama!!!

DON'T FEED THE ANIMALS

I was reading an article written by the Department of Fish and Game in California, which educates humans on not feeding wild animals and the reasons behind it. As I was reading this article it occurred to me that we, in the human world could learn a lesson from this article. See, it is widely distributed throughout national parks and such that humans are not to feed the wild animals. There are various reasons for this. Wild animals, when given food handouts by humans, will tend to stay in that area and become increasingly more dependent on the free food. They will begin to lose their instinct to go hunt food for themselves. They will even, over time, become increasingly aggressive about trying to take food from their human providers. After a period of time the population may become almost entirely dependent on the handouts, and unable to survive without them.

This same behavior can be seen in the socialized programs of welfare and unemployment compensation started by the "New Deal", which continues to encourage a large number of Americans to "lose their instinct to go hunt food for themselves." The government being the humans providing the free handout, compliments of working Americans tax dollars. I purchased the book, "Letters of a Nation" which contain great letters that have been retrieved dealing indifferent era's of American history. I highly recommend this book by the way, and I wish to share one letter from this book, as it deals with the topic at hand. The letter is from Minnie A. Hardin to first lady Eleanor Roosevelt. Ms. Hardin, as well as many other Americans knew early on, what a huge mistake the government had made with the socialist concepts employed in the "NewDeal." What is shared in this letter is the outrage that came from these programs by Americans who worked for a living, while others made a living from their work. The statists successfully counted on the fact, that we, as humans, tend to have short term memories and our anger seems to fade over time when injustice occurs. For an example of this look no further than debates we're having about releasing terrorists and prosecuting the heroes who interrogated them, merely seven years after 9/11, but I don't want to get off-topic. Ms. Hardin puts the injustices of these programs in better words than I could possibly consider writing. It is a long letter but well worth the read, so without further adieau:

I suppose from your point of view the work relief, old age pensions, slum clearance and all the rest seems like a perfect remedy for all the ills of this country,but I would like for you to see the results, as the other half see them. We have always had a shiftless, never-do-well class of people whose one and only aim in life is to live without work. I have been rubbing elbows with this class for nearly sixty years and have tried to help some of the most promising and have seen others try to help them, but it can't be done. We cannot help those who will not try to help themselves and if they do try, a square deal is all they need, and by the way that is all this country needs or ever has needed: a square deal for all and then, let each paddle their own canoe, or sink. There has never been any necessity for any one who is able to work, being on relief in this locality, but there have been many eating the bread of charity and they have lived better than ever before. I have had tax payers tell me that their children came from school and asked why they couldn't have nice lunches like the children on relief. The women and children around here have had to work at the fields to help save the crops and several women fainted while at work and at the same time we couldn't go up or down the road without stumbling over some of the reliefers, moping around carrying dirt from one side of the road to the other and back again, or else asleep. I live alone on a farm and have not raised any crops for the last two years as there was no help to be had. I am feeding the stock and have been cutting the wood to keep my home fires burning. There are several reliefers around here now who have been kicked off relief but they refuse to work unless they can get relief hours and wages, but they are so worthless no one can afford to hire them. As for the clearance of the real slums, it can't be done as long as their inhabitants are allowed to reproduce their kind. I would like for you to see what a family of that class can do to a decent house in a short time. Such a family moved into an almost new, neat, four-room house near here last winter. They even cut down some of the shade trees for fuel, after they had burned everything they could pry loose. There were two big idle boys in the family and they could get all the fuel they wanted, just for the cutting, but the shade trees were closer and it was taking a great amount of fuel, for they had broken out several windows and they had but very little bedding. There were two women there all the time and three part of the time and there was enough good clothing tramped in the mud around the yard to have made all the bedclothes they needed. It was clothing that had been given them and they had worn it until it was too filthy to wear any longer without washing, so they threw it out and begged more. I will not try to describe their filth for you would not believe me. They paid no rent while there and left between two suns owing everyone from whom they could get a nickels worth of anything. They are just a fair sample of the class of people on whom so much of our hard earned tax money is being squandered and on whom so much sympathy is being wasted. As for the old people on beggars' allowances: the taxpayers have provided homes for all the old people who never liked to work, where they will be neither cold nor hungry: much better homes than most of them have ever tried to provide for themselves. They have lived many years through the most prosperous times of our country and had an opportunity to prepare for old age, but they spent their lives in idleness or worse and now they expect those who have worked like slaves, to provide a living for them and all their worthless descendants. Some of them are asking for from thirty to sixty dollars a month when I have known them to live on a dollar a week rather than go to work. There is many a little child doing without butter on its bread, so that some old sot can have his booze and tobacco: some old sot who spent his working years loafing around pool rooms and saloons, boasting that the world owed him a living. Even the child welfare has become a racket. The parents of large families are getting divorces, so that the mothers and children can qualify for aid. The children have to join the ranks of the "unemployed" as they grow up, for no child that has been raised on charity in this community has ever amounted to anything. You people who have plenty of this worlds goods and whose money comes easy, have no idea of the heart-breaking toil and self-denial which is the lot of the working people who are trying to make an honest living, and then to have to shoulder all these unjust burdens seems like the last straw. During the worst of the depression many of the farmers had to deny their families butter, eggs, meat, etc. and sell it to pay their taxes and then had to stand by and see the dead-beats carry it home to their families by the arm load, and they knew their tax money was helping pay for it. One woman saw a man carry out eight pounds of butter at one time. The crookedness, selfishness, greed and graft of the crooked politicians is making one gigantic racket out of the new deal, and it is making this a nation of dead-beats and beggars and if it continues the people who will work will soon be nothing but slaves for the pampered poverty rats and I am afraid these human parasites are going to become a menace to the country unless they are disfranchised. No one should have the right to vote theirself a living at the expense of the taxpayers. They learned their strength at the last election and also learned that they can get just about what they want by "voting right." They have had a taste of their coveted life of idleness, and at the rate they are increasing, they will soon control the country. The twentieth child arrived in the home of one chronic reliefer near here some time ago. Is it any wonder the taxpayers are discouraged by all this penalizing of thrift and industry to reward shiftlessness, or that the whole country is on the brink of chaos?

Sound familiar??? History does repeat itself when we refuse to learn from it. Even the Department of Fish and Game tells us, "Don't Feed The Animals!"

YOU ASKED FOR CHANGE, YOU HAVE CHANGE

Barack Obama campaigned quite successfully on a platform of, “Change We Can Believe In” and, “Yes We Can.” 100 days into his presidency he has not failed to back these phrases up. President Obama has moved rapidly to “change” just about everything he can about the United States. Sovereignty??? Say no more America! He has removed that from our country's description by going on a world tour to apologize to every country that will listen. This will no doubt destroy our lobbying power in the world, thereby changing two more problems with our land...Initiative and World Leadership. We never really liked those anyway, did we America?? Now we are well on our way to joining the European Union. Maybe we can even go to a global currency and get rid of that crazy U.S. Dollar. Then we can become basically an extension of Europe. Wait a minute...didn't we fight the British twice to get away from that dependency?? Never you mind, you asked for change.

Safety and National Security have you down?? Never fear! Barack is here! For the last seven plus years we slept under a protective umbrella with terrorists on the run from our offensive efforts to eradicate them from this earth. They were hunted, taken prisoner when found, interrogated successfully for intelligence on other terrorists and/or planned attacks, and imprisoned in a safe environment away from the American public. Here comes some more of the “Change you can believe in” that you wanted America. President Obama is closing down the facilities that imprison these terrorists, and either bringing them to America or setting them free. How much would you pay for that plan citizens? DON'T ANSWER YET! Not only are you going to receive this gift, he has gone a step further to change things by contemplating the prosecution and imprisonment of the heroes who kept us safe since 9/11. After all, it is reprehensible that we would pour water in a murderers mouth to gather intelligence that will keep Americans safe. In fact, President Obama takes his change very seriously, so he is releasing the CIA interrogation techniques to the terrorists, destroying any future opportunity to utilize them successfully again. So to summarize...releasing terrorists, prosecuting American heroes. Now that's change!!

No changing of America would be complete without a fundamental change of what this country was founded upon.

The liberal democrats, identified more appropriately as “Statists” by Mark Levin in his new book, have done a good deal to eliminate morals and Christianity over the past few decades. But their actions were always quite veiled. With reckless abandon President Obama has launched a bold frontal assault on both in his first three months in office by signing executive orders to reverse president Bush's ban of embryonic stem cell research. He has instituted numerous bills and an extensive increase in funding for abortions at all stages of pregnancy, as well as nominating some of the most radically affiliated pro-abortion members in his cabinet. He has gone public in stating that America is not a Christian nation. How's that for some bold change?? All of this in the first 100 days! Imagine where we will be in another 1360 days!

“Yes we can” remove the identity that makes us Americans, separate from other European countries. “Yes we can” stop bringing terrorists to justice! “Yes we can” remove all of the power of our intelligence agencies to keep America safe! “Yes we can” take vast amounts of money away from those who have earned it, and redistribute it to those who have not! “Yes we can” remove capitalism from America and replace it with European Socialism! “Yes we can” remove the American liberties that are promised to all Americans in the Constitution! “Yes we can” remove Christianity from our nations history! “Yes we can” murder as many unborn children as we want, and maybe even legalize euthanasia...thereby moving back in the direction of the Nazi's Eugenics philosophies of the 1930's and 40's. Yes America, you voted overwhelmingly for change last November. Let's all take time to soak up the au jus of our “change.”

HONESTY IS APPARENTLY NO LONGER THE BEST POLICY

The few hundred Americans who still watch beauty pageants were treated to a rare dose of honesty from one of it's contestants on Sunday evening. Apparently nobody informed Miss California that she wasn't really supposed to voice her opinion during the question and answer portion of the contest. This, of course, has been a widely recognized unwritten rule over the years that most contestants receive the memo on. Miss USA Pageant Unwritten Rule #314…always answer contest questions with the most liberally accepted, politically correct, answer possible, normally containing a reference to global warming, world peace, the homeless, and equality to all females, minorities, homosexuals, hermaphrodites, etc. It was apparently the last portion of Rule #314 which tripped up our wayward beauty. She apparently did not get the memo that honesty is not a graded portion of this contest. When asked by Perez Hilton, a homosexual hollywood blogger, whether she believed in gay marriage, she had the audacity to tell the truth!!! WHAT??? HOW DARE SHE DO THAT!!! Everyone in the western hemisphere knew that she was supposed to tell Queen Perez that she completely and wholeheartedly supports and embraces hot man on man action. Anything short of this type of dishonesty would be obvious contest suicide. What could have possessed Carrie Prejean to answer,

"We live in a land where you can choose same-sex marriage or opposite. And you know what, I think in my country, in my family, I think that I believe that a marriage should be between a man and a woman. No offense to anybody out there, but that's how I was raised."

How dare she rock the boat in our country this way.

The fallout was immediate…

"As co-director of the Miss California USA, I am personally saddened and hurt that Miss California believes marriage rights belong only to a man and a woman," said Lewis in a statement. "I believe all religions should be able to ordain what unions they see fit. I do not believe our government should be able to discriminate against anyone and religious beliefs have no politics in the Miss California family" stated the Miss California Director.

REALLY??? SERIOUSLY??? So opinion based questions in the pageant aren't really to be answered. Look at the quote above. The sentences begin with, "I am personally saddened and hurt", "I believe", "I do not believe". Is not what Miss California believes equally important? Hopefully the Miss California Director has learned his lesson. When the selection process begins for next years Miss California, he should begin the process by stating to all of the contestants that a prerequisite to winning is to agree with all of the political opinions of the director. Look at the end of the quote, "religious beliefs have no politics in the Miss California family"

Basically Miss California, you've been warned by the fringe that 'YOUR INTOLERANCE WILL NOT BE TOLERATED!!!' Is anyone else scratching their head about who is really being intolerant??

Awareness Months

Before I get started on this one, believe me, I have no doubt I will offend some of you who read this. I merely ask that you read the entire article and let my point saturate before you start accusing me of being insensitive.

On April 2nd I received an email regarding "Sexual Assault Awareness Month". Now, a little background for all non-military members. It is not uncommon to receive precisely this type of email daily in the military, which normally consists of a PME (Professional Military Education aka class) which is sent down by the Battalion Commander or Sergeant Major, and normally contains the language "highly encouraged to attend" which translates into "attendance is mandatory." Now, don't get me wrong, I am not trying to belittle PME's in any way. I have attended numerous PME's over the years which were incredibly informational and provided a valuable tool for all required personnel to quickly and efficiently receive what they needed to know at the time. My issue with this is, we are ever increasingly broadening the definition of "PME" to include numerous "politically correct" organizations which have no other intent than to force their opinions of different topics upon servicemembers and indoctrinate them.

It is quite incredible to me the amount of politics which has been allowed to creep into the military atmosphere in the last ten years. I would bet money that if I conducted a poll of the civilian population, they would be in disbelief at how many military workdays are wasted each year on numerous "Awareness Month" PME's, as well as other special interest group propaganda. Each new month brings about one, sometimes multiple "Awareness Months", that all military members end up being forced to be "aware" of. This will take place on a day during the appropriate month. Each particular unit commander aboard the installation will get the "highly encouraged to attend" wording from his superiors, and in turn, will pass the same lingo down to the lowest levels. This is an integral step in the successful accomplishment of the mission for the high paid civilian GS employee who initiated the training. He must justify his continued employment at this billet by the attendance at his or her particular event each year.

The end result of each of these "Awareness Months" is mandatory attendance by everyone on the military installation. What does this mean to you, the taxpayer? It means that millions of man-hours and taxpayer dollars are spent each year sitting in the Base Theatre at our installation, being "educated" on various topics, which in turn, is supposed to translate into less of whatever behavior brought about the "Awareness Month" in the first place. Quite some time ago I heard Rush Limbaugh mention that liberals believe in symbolism over substance. This is a great example of that thought process in action. Specifically narrowing this to "Sexual Assault Awareness Month", I wonder how many Marines in the theatre, after receiving their "education" on the topic, said to themselves, "I was really considering fondling another Marine inappropriately this evening, but after receiving this training, I no longer am considering it." Honestly??? I know, I know…the bleeding hearts will say, "if it stops one incident from happening it was worth it." I am telling you honestly that I don't believe this forced training has stopped one incident from happening since it's inception. This naïve belief in a Utopia, whereby, if we can just educate everyone appropriately, someday we will eliminate this behavior altogether, is unfounded. There will always be good and there will always be evil, but that's a rant for another day.

Getting back on track, to further demonstrate the wasted money, time, and ultimately, training which helps maintain the national security of this great land. I have listed below the many "Awareness Months" that the military allows the symbolism drones to come indoctrinate us on:

Some bases may have more, some less, but this is a general idea of what we're looking at here. I hope everyone can sleep safely tonight knowing that if all else fails, your fighting military forces are "aware."
