Presidents Day



















Today is Presidents Day and as such, it is fitting to celebrate the wisdom of some of our finest patriots, who helped to create and/or maintain this wonderful Republic we call The United States of America.

There may have been no man more directly responsible for the formation of our great nation than George Washington. Washington played a major role in the drafting of The Declaration of Independence and was unanimously selected as Commander in Chief of the Continental Army. Washington accepted this commission and asked that he not receive a salary for his service, only that at the conclusion of the war, his expenses be paid. Imagine a leader today being that selfless.

Near the close of the Revolutionary War, the Continental Army met to discuss a possible insurrection against the Congress of our infant nation. The soldiers had not received pay and benefits as they had been promised and were out of patience. Washington addressed the men and was able to successfully calm them down and thus protect the fledgling nation from an early internal demise. That is leadership, my friends!

It cannot be overstated how important a good leader can be. Many do not believe the position of President of The United States to be that important to our system of government, which specifically limits power to any one entity. I, for one, could not disagree more. I speak not in regards to his power within the three branches of government, which contrary to Senator Charles Schumer's belief, are not the House, the Senate, and the President . I speak in the sense of his direct effect on the emotions and morale of the American people. When tragedy befalls our nation, the nation looks to the President to explain what we are going to do as a nation to overcome it. He is expected to demonstrate poise, confidence, and compassion. His ability to demonstrate these behaviors appropriately has a direct effect on how successfully our nation navigates through difficulties.

Feeling confident in our nation after watching this?? I can't watch more than two minutes without wanting to wave a white flag.

One clearly inspires confidence in the nation's citizens and one most certainly does not.

On this Presidents Day it is my prayer that we might find a President that strengthens and inspires this nation back to the greatness we once enjoyed, not so long ago. The current one seems intent on replacing our democratic republic with socialism, which is certainly not what our founding fathers and early Presidents had in mind.

Remember The Day The Democrats Took Over.













I received this in my email from a good friend today and thought I'd share it with everyone, as I am sick and tired of hearing that every problem in this country is George W. Bush's fault.  I wrote an article on this on April 13th of 2009.

A year and a half later and the liberals are still using this childish tactic.  This email puts it in better perspective for those who will listen.

Lest we forget....    The day the democrats took over was not January 22nd 2009, it was actually January 3rd, 2007.  The day the Democrats took over the House of Representatives and the Senate, the start of the 110th Congress. The Democratic Party controlled a majority in both chambers for the first time since the end of the 103rd Congress in 1995. For those who are listening to the liberals propagating the fallacy that everything is "Bush's Fault", think about this:  January 3rd, 2007 was the day the Democrats took over the Senate and the Congress:  At the time:  The DOW Jones closed at 12,621.77  The GDP for the previous quarter was 3.5%  The Unemployment rate was 4.6%  George Bush's Economic policies SET A RECORD of 52 STRAIGHT MONTHS of JOB CREATION!  Remember the day...
January 3rd, 2007 was the day that Barney Frank took over the House Financial Services Committee and Chris Dodd took over the Senate Banking Committee.  The economic meltdown that happened 15 months later was in what part of the economy?
BANKING AND FINANCIAL SERVICES!!!
THANK YOU DEMOCRATS for taking us from 13,000 DOW, 3.5 GDP and 4.6% Unemployment... to this CRISIS by (among MANY other things) dumping 5-6 TRILLION Dollars of toxic loans on the economy from YOUR Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac FIASCOS! (BTW: Bush asked Congress 17 TIMES to stop Fannie & Freddie - starting in 2001 because it was financially risky for the US economy).  And who took the THIRD highest pay-off from Fannie Mae AND Freddie Mac????  OBAMA  And who fought against reform of Fannie and Freddie???  OBAMA and the Democratic Congress  So when some one tries to blame Bush...  REMEMBER JANUARY 3rd, 2007.... THE DAY THE DEMOCRATS TOOK OVER!" 
Bush may have been in the car but the Democrats were in charge of the gas pedal and steering wheel they were driving.

Where Are You Ronald Reagan? The Belly Has Taken Command of the Head!!



I have to be honest. I haven't been feeling the creative juices this last week. Thus, I haven't written anything in almost a week. I sat down this morning looking for a little inspiration. As is often the case, I needed to look no further than the words of Ronald Reagan. If you scan through his speeches and writings, it is apparent that he was able to see the socialized nation we were becoming. His famous speech in 1964 to the Republican National Convention gave us great insight to his wisdom and his knowledge that we were already headed down the road to socialism. What I found this morning in one of my favorite books, "The Common Sense of an Uncommon Man" by Michael Reagan, was a quote from an address he made at the Eisenhower College in 1969. In this address, he described the parallels between the rise and fall of the Roman Empire and our own plight as a nation. He spoke of how the Roman Empire declined and collapsed in it's third century, but showed warning signs of it's demise late in the second century. This speech was given nearing the end of our second century as a nation (1969) and Reagan mentioned that, stating:

"It has been pointed out that the days of democracy are numbered once the belly takes command of the head. When the less affluent feel the urge to break a commandment and begin to covet that which their more affluent neighbors possess, they are tempted to use their votes to obtain instant satisfaction. Then equal opportunity at the starting line becomes an extended guarantee of at least a tie at the finish line. Under the euphemism "the greatest good for the greatest number," we destroy a system which has accomplished just that and move toward the managed economy which strangles freedom and mortgages generations yet to come."

We were blessed enough to slow this march toward socialism down for eight years under President Reagan's tutelage. Unfortunately, under a constant barrage of propaganda from the statist liberal politicians and the main stream media, The lazy population of bums (yeah, I said it) who believe the government is responsible to take care of their every want and need is feeling more entitled to hard-working Americans money than ever.

Our current Commander in Chief is more than happy to pour gasoline on the fire as well. He has basically started his own war on every successful inch of the private sector in this nation. We are getting ready to experience the largest tax increase in our nations history next year. Meanwhile, the money from your pockets will continue to bail out banks and other businesses that are deemed "too big to fail" so that the government can gain influence over the private sector. Our money will continue to be spent on extending, extending, and E-X-T-E-N-D-I-N-G some more, unemployment benefits because, as Nancy Pelosi said, unemployment benefits "creates jobs faster than almost any other initiative you can name." Yes!! She said that, and of course, she will get yet another pass from the state-run media. In fact, as often as Nancy Pelosi releases completely illogical stupidity into the air, I am guessing they laminated her a permanent "pass" that she keeps around her neck to show them, when necessary.

I suppose the administration must make such moves to please the people who elected "spread the wealth" Obama and celebrated his election with educated phrases such as,

"I won't have to worry about putting gas in my car. I won't have to worry about paying my mortgage. You know, If I help him, he's gonna help me." --Peggy Joseph--

I honestly don't know why so many people make fun of Ms. Joseph. She was pretty accurate in summing up exactly what he has; in fact, done to this point.

Could you imagine what President Reagan would have said about the lines of citizens in Detroit waiting for "Obama Money"??? They don't even know where the money comes from!!! Really!!! Seriously!!! If we continue at this pace they most assuredly will know where the money comes from, because the working class will shrink to the point that the lazy bums will outnumber them. One day they will go to pick up their free "Obama Money" and find that the free-ride has ended. That is how socialism ends, by the way. We need merely look to the past to see how this story ends.

Yes, President Reagan, the belly has taken command of the head and it is not a pretty sight. I pray you are unable to see what is taking place down here to our once great nation. You worked so hard throughout the duration of your life to prevent just such an occurrence. You do not need to feel the pain of our demise.

Socialized Healthcare is the Last Dagger in the Coffin of Our Republic!!



Once again, as is so often true, Ronald Reagan saw this on the horizon and spoke of this in his many speeches.

I cannot stress this enough. This is the week, Americans! If we stand by and allow it to happen, this is the week that will go down in history as the week our Republic died. Yes, I know...all of the optimists out there will say that the courts will come to the rescue and easily determine this bill to be unconstitutional. I believe they more than likely will, but how many years might that take? How many Supreme Court Justices might have been replaced by Obama appointees between now and the time the Supreme Court finally hears the case? We are talking about years, not months, before they will hear the case.

From an economic perspective, will our nation still exist. The healthcare plan is estimated to be about a trillion (with a "T") dollars. Anyone who researches government estimations of their programs will undoubtedly know that they are never close in their estimates.

When the Social Security Program was being created, it was estimated that payouts in 1980 would be around 4 billion dollars. How close were the politicians? Payouts in 1980 were 108 billion dollars. They were pretty close, huh?

When the Medicare Program was born in 1965, it was estimated that payouts in 1990 would be 12 billion. Actual cost....110 billion!! Does anyone see a trend here? The government tends to be off by about a factor of 10 on their estimates. What does that mean? The socialized government takeover of healthcare will cost the American taxpayer about 10 trillion dollars.

With our current deficit, can the nation bear this burden without our economic system toppling over?

Taxes will be raised on working Americans to support this huge chunk of change immediately, but the program will not begin for at least four years. Hmmmmm. Is anyone else suspicious about where the money might be going for those years? Is anyone still naive enough to think it will be going into some untouchable healthcare savings account and accruing interest for the program's initiation? If you believe it will please Google "where did our social security money go?"

You, and your money, WILL be paying for abortions. Are there any other pro-lifers out their that morally refuse to support this procedure with your earned income?? I know I do!! What shall the government reaction be if a large group of citizens refuse to pay their taxes due to this moral dilemma? All questions we should be asking and considering if this bill is to become law.

I cannot overstate this. THIS IS THE LAST LINE OF DEFENSE AGAINST A TAKEOVER BY SOCIALISM OF OUR REPUBLIC!!! Yeah, I know...a lot of you are saying that I'm overreacting and it's not that big of a deal. That is precisely what the "left" is counting on...for the general population to not engage themselves enough in the issue until it is too late. This plan to convert to socialism did not begin with the election of Barack Obama. It was initiated around the beginning of the 20th century and was anchored into place by programs hatched during the Great Depression. It did not begin with the latest election, but this most certainly is the endgame if they pass this bill.

The government will then own more of the economy of this nation than the private sector, aka, "The People" who are referred to in our Constitution. In 2009, Obama's administration went on an unprecedented seizure of the private sector economy by taking control of Chrysler, General Motors, Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, and AIG, as well as partial control of Citigroup and Bank Of America, giving the government control of about 1/3 of the nation's economic output. The healthcare industry currently makes up about 15% of the entire economy of our nation, but estimates expect the growing industry to claim 17.7% by 2012. This final seizure by the government of private industry will spell "game over" to capitalism and our fine Republic that many brave men and women have given their lives' to preserve over the years.

We must FIGHT and FIGHT NOW!! Get on the phones!!! If you can work it out get to DC and get in the face of your elected lawmakers and make it clear that you DO NOT SUPPORT THIS BILL OR SOCIALISM!! It is a small price to pay compared to the many who have bled to death on batllefields in far-off lands for hundreds of years to preserve this opportunity for you to serve the nation in a less-dangerous, but equally-important manner. Why Pacifism Will Never Work

Pacifism

noun

1. opposition to war or violence of any kind.
2. refusal to engage in military activity because of one's principles or beliefs.
3. the principle or policy that all differences among nations should be adjusted without recourse to war.

In my post yesterday I mentioned that a so-called conservative friend on my facebook page had posted a video from The Iraqi Veterans Against War website which displayed an Iraqi veteran ranting about the illegal war he was forced to take part in and his belief that this war was some conspiracy by the rich corporate types to keep poor people in their place. I don't remember all of it off the top of my head as I was slightly agitated by the stupidity of his claims, but it did make me want to research his pacifist belief system and comment on it a bit.

Pacifism, in and of itself, doesn't sound like a bad idea. In fact, I would be happy to support pacifism and become a pacifist myself at the point that I could be assured all evil in the world had been eliminated and that every other member of this world was now also a pacifist. As soon as the U.S. Pacifist Party can confirm this to me I am onboard. Until then, I contend that the entire philosophy is dangerously flawed. The bumper sticker type logo displayed on the Party's website states:

"Defense By Nonviolent Resistance"

My question is this...what type of defense would this be?

Let's say that another country dislikes us, I know, I know, try to use your imagination. Let's say this country begins building up their armies and their weaponry...just for the sake of the purely hypothetical example, let's call this country...Iran. Imagine they start making threatening statements about our pacifist nation. We now, as a pacifist nation must implement our "defense by nonviolent resistance." Would this defense include attempting to speak to them and convince them that we mean no harm? I know this is a stretch, but let's imagine this doesn't deter their aggression.

They are now threatening to invade and/or destroy us with a nuclear device. What is our next step in the "defense by nonviolent resistance" ladder of escalation? Would we all hold hands and sing Kumbaya as they invaded, in the hopes that they might see us not resisting and feel guilty. I honestly have no idea how this would work, so I decided to take a look at the party platform for the last election. Certainly this will clear things up and show how pacifism will succeed. This is what they have listed:

"Preparation for nonviolent resistance against possible invasion and occupation attempts; This would include establishment of a national Department of Peace, and an unarmed service corps trained in strategic nonviolent defense and equipped for mobilization anywhere in the world"

Ahhhh!! Now I feel safer about the whole situation. We would establish a national Department of Peace. Maybe we would even have a Secretary of Peace that would certainly deter aggression. Furthermore, we would have a Service Corps which would be trained in strategic nonviolent defense and equipped for mobilization. My first thought is...what are they to be equipped with? Happy face stickers? Make Love Not War signs? Seriously, what does a nonviolent Service Corps deploy with? How well would you sleep at night knowing that an unarmed corps of peace advocates stand ready to defend you and your family? Furthermore, what type of training is included in their "strategic nonviolent defense" schooling? Strategic surrender 101? Laying in Front of Tanks 201??

As I stated before, pacifism itself is a nice idea, but it is based on the flawed theory that with enough education and enlightenment, human beings will eventually evolve to the point that they will no longer have any selfish desires which would cause a want of power or greed. I do not find this to be a realistic possibility whatsoever, and this is ultimately what will cause pacifism to fail in every setting.

I believe C.S. Lewis explained the flaws better than any:

"We must increase by propaganda the number of Pacifists in each nation until it becomes great enough to deter that nation from going to war. This seems to me wild work. Only liberal societies tolerate Pacifists. In the liberal society, the number of Pacifists will either be large enough to cripple the state as a belligerent, or not. If not, you have done nothing. If it is large enough, then you have handed over the state which does tolerate Pacifists to its totalitarian neighbor who does not. Pacifism of this kind is taking the straight road to a world in which there will be no Pacifists."

Armies which stand ready to do battle in defense of freedom are the only deterrent to others who would want to take it away. That is the reality of it, whether you like it or not.

Ronald Reagan Presidential Christmas Address

How far we have come as a nation since Ronald Reagan's address in 1981. Has President Obama even made a Christmas address? If he does, I am guessing it will be called a "holiday address" and will not speak of Bethlehem, a manger, or Jesus. Merry Christmas and Happy Hanukkah to everyone. If I find an Obama christmas address I will post it. I'm surprised there isn't one yet since the almighty Obama usually makes any excuse to post himself on all of our network channels so he can pontificate to his followers.

THE WISDOM OF RONALD REAGAN AND THE GENERAL WELFARE CLAUSE

As sure as Thomas Paine’s writings and quotes live on to reflect wisdom and the role of government from Revolutionary times, Ronald Reagan’s speeches and quotations shall live on as a beacon for modern day conservatives to follow. One of my favorite quotes is listed below and as with most of Reagan’s quotes, can be directly related to the current day’s political affairs.

“Nations crumble from within when the citizenry asks of government those things which the citizenry might better provide for itself.” -Ronald Reagan-

Who are the citizens of this country to ask, more like demand, the government provide them with universal healthcare? Where in the Constitution does it state that the government shall provide health insurance to all Americans? This question has actually been asked of many of the liberal politicians who support government run healthcare. Their answer???? They claim the authority of the government to enact such a program rests in Article 1, Section 8, of the U.S. Constitution, often referred to as the “General Welfare” clause. Let’s look a little deeper at this section of our Constitution, which is posted below.

The first paragraph of Section 8 explains that congress will have the power to collect taxes and provide for the general welfare of the United States, but that the parameters for doing this would be limited to the 17 enumerated powers listed below the first paragraph. Let’s look for the paragraph which describes a government provided healthcare program.

Section 8. The Congress shall have power to lay and collect taxes, duties, imposts and excises, to pay the debts and provide for the common defense and general welfare of the United States; but all duties, imposts and excises shall be uniform throughout the United States;

To borrow money on the credit of the United States;

To regulate commerce with foreign nations, and among the several states, and with the Indian tribes;

To establish a uniform rule of naturalization, and uniform laws on the subject of bankruptcies throughout the United States;

To coin money, regulate the value thereof, and of foreign coin, and fix the standard of weights and measures;

To provide for the punishment of counterfeiting the securities and current coin of the United States;

To establish post offices and post roads;

To promote the progress of science and useful arts, by securing for limited times to authors and inventors the exclusive right to their respective writings and discoveries;

To constitute tribunals inferior to the Supreme Court;

To define and punish piracies and felonies committed on the high seas, and offenses against the law of nations;

To declare war, grant letters of marque and reprisal, and make rules concerning captures on land and water;

To raise and support armies, but no appropriation of money to that use shall be for a longer term than two years;

To provide and maintain a navy;

To make rules for the government and regulation of the land and naval forces;

To provide for calling forth the militia to execute the laws of the union, suppress insurrections and repel invasions;

To provide for organizing, arming, and disciplining, the militia, and for governing such part of them as may be employed in the service of the United States, reserving to the states respectively, the appointment of the officers, and the authority of training the militia according to the discipline prescribed by Congress;

To exercise exclusive legislation in all cases whatsoever, over such District (not exceeding ten miles square) as may, by cession of particular states, and the acceptance of Congress, become the seat of the government of the United States, and to exercise like authority over all places purchased by the consent of the legislature of the state in which the same shall be, for the erection of forts, magazines, arsenals, dockyards, and other needful buildings;--And

To make all laws which shall be necessary and proper for carrying into execution the foregoing powers, and all other powers vested by this Constitution in the government of the United States, or in any department or officer thereof.

Did you find it? That’s right. It isn’t there! Okay, now let’s take a step back in history. Let’s find the paragraph that describes the government’s authority to impose a social security program which forces all to contribute. How about a government welfare program wherein the contributors would be taxed from their income to provide for non-contributing citizens livelihood? I can’t find those paragraphs either.

That’s right, the erosion of the rights of the citizens of this nation, and growth of government control over them started around 1937, under Franklin Roosevelt. Roosevelt’s “New Deal” brought about a sweeping government power grab over the liberties and freedoms of the individuals of this nation, who were reeling from the economic fallout of the depression. All of it was unconstitutional, but accepted by the citizens who hoped the government would magically take away their financial problems. Sound familiar? Oh how history repeats itself.

The powers defined in the above section clearly demonstrate the areas of national purpose over which Congress is authorized to enact legislation including raising funds and taxing it’s citizens. Anything not listed in the enumerated powers is outside the purview of the national government and, as defined by the Constitution, should fall upon the individual states.

It is not the government’s duty to provide everything to its citizens. In fact, it is not the government that provides anything to its citizens. The funds utilized to care for a non-contributing member of our society are raised by taxing the contributing members of our society.

Any and all politicians who attempt to gain favor and basically purchase the votes of non-contributing members with the promise of more government programs to benefit them, do so on the backs of the contributing, working class of our society, not from their own personal pocketbooks. In the law enforcement community we have terminology to describe this…LARCENY! Article 1, Section 8, of the U.S. Constitution was written specifically to PREVENT bureaucrats from exercising such immoral control over citizens.

We are quickly approaching a point in our nation’s history where we, believers in the Constitution of this nation, must stand and defend it. The government is spiraling out of control in debt, yet we’re increasing government spending to fund more of these unconstitutional social programs designed to enslave the citizens of this country to government control. Many are beginning to push back, but this will not be a brief or easy fight. We must continue to vocalize our Constitution-backed conservative values in a loud, boisterous manner. We must ensure we help educate our fellow citizens on what is and isn’t included in the Constitution. Finally, we must be on the frontlines, pursuing every avenue possible to ensure the removal of any and all representatives of Congress, Republican or Democrat, that do not strongly uphold the Constitution of our United States of America. THE ASSEMBLING OF "ENFORCERS" TO QUIET THE PEOPLE‏

It should disturb any freedom loving American to hear that labor unions(SEIU) and special interest groups such as ACORN are mobilizing their members and busing them to townhalls to disrupt, intimidate, and even assault, any Americans who would dare voice their concern or disagreement with the Obama healthcare plan.

I am disturbed, but not surprised that these tactics are taking place. After all, The democratic leaders, if not directly giving the order for this to take place, at a minimum have encouraged it by their rhetoric towards anyone who would dissent from their self-professed wisdom.

Nancy Pelosi made the bogus claim that protestors attending townhall meetings were "carrying swastikas" to the meetings. She has also called the protestors "un-american" in an op-ed column this week. It should be noted that comrade Pelosi likes to throw around the "un-american" accusation. She earlier this year labeled police raids on companies known to be employing illegal immigrants as "un-american."

Senator Harry Reid called the townhall protestors "evil-mongers."

Chris Matthews went a few steps further by identifying townhall protestors as racists. On his Tuesday show he was quoted as saying, "I think some of the people are upset because we have a black president."

Michigan Congressman John Dingell (D) appeared in a TV interview this week comparing the ongoing nationwide town hall protests to the 1960's opposition to the Civil Rights Act by the Ku Klux Klan.

This is just the type of behavior I would expect from these liberal statists. Even though the polls (not that I'm big on poll numbers) would support that a majority of Americans are against this healthcare legislation, these holier-than-thou leftists will, rather than admit they are wrong about anything, force the legislation down our throats, because in their pompous fantasy world, they certainly know what is better for us than we know for ourselves.

Continually dismissing a majority of the voting population as "fringe" is not very intelligent on their part, as they must face election in coming years. But then again, I'm sure they can count on their "enforcers" to help swing the vote in their favor with another nationwide fraudulent voter registration program. Maybe they can mobilize more Black Panthers to be present at voting locations to intimidate voters. After all, as long as their candidate gets elected they will not be prosecuted for the behavior.

It is no longer time to get angry about these type of incidents. It is time to take action with the tools guaranteed to us in the U.S. Constitution. All Americans who value their liberty and independence must get actively involved now, before we wake up one morning and wonder where our freedom went.
