This is a great Blog Ron. I will be sharing it with all of my Friends.
ReplyDeleteSince unlike in the US, Islam (aka. religion) is considered a form of government by a number of countries, wouldn't a comparison with say "Democracy" be more accurate?
ReplyDeleteFor example, how many deaths are attributed to people who claim to be working in the furtherance of freedom and democracy?
Wouldn't it be better to compare systems of government, rather than "religion"?
Of course, should America become the theocracy like a certain segment hopes for, I'm pretty sure we'd then be able to make the comparison between "Christianity" and "Islam".
The comparison of Islam to Democracy? Islam is a form of government, but their basis is on a god, an unseen, nonexistent god. Democracy on the other hand can be separated from any one god. Democracy is something you can see and experience through freedom of living in any manner you please. Even if you were to compare the two as government forms
ReplyDeletewhy would you? what is your point? As a woman I appreciate, greatly the furtherance of freedom and democracy. Under Islam I would have very little freedoms or rights. America was founded by men fleeing a theocracy. Islam may differ in the god they do so much under but in reality they are exactly like the misguided men and women of long ago killing in the name of their own ideal of religion, which had nothing to do with the true teachings of Christ.
