Ground Zero Mosque...Reaching Out And Being Tolerant To Islam

I have waited until now to make any comments on the proposed "ground zero" mosque. Now that this is all the rage in political discussion I suppose I will state my peace. Let me begin by stating what should be obvious to any true Constitution believing American. Legally, there is nothing the government can or should do to prevent the mosque from being built. That is a dangerous precedent to set, and an area the government cannot be allowed to tamper with.

With that being said, the debate here is more on the motives of the man building the mosque, Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf. The fact that this man refuses to condemn Hamas as a terrorist organization and has been quoted as saying that America is an "accessory" to 9/11 is disturbing, to say the least. However, arguably the most disturbing statements from this Imam are centered around his belief that our nation must become Shariah compliant. These are not exactly statements from a man who recently claimed to be the "anti-terrorist" and therefore all Americans should be concerned with this mans motives.

It is time we stop turning a blind eye to the moves being made in our nation by muslim leaders. It is time we stop allowing them to claim their religion is a "religion of peace." Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf recently stated, "Our purpose is to interweave America’s Muslim population into the mainstream society." I am here to state again the majority American opinion on this, regardless of the politically incorrect nature of it. MR. ABDUL RAUF...WE DO NOT WANT YOUR BELIEF SYSTEM TO BE INTERWEAVED INTO OUR SOCIETY!!! Your Shariah belief system and crude prehistoric political system disguised as a religion could never mesh with our society and culture of FREEDOM!!

WE DO NOT ACCEPT the beating of women in our country!!!
WE DO NOT ACCEPT the forcing of women to cover their entire bodies in shame!!
WE DO NOT ACCEPT pedophiles and/or the marrying of seven year old girls by men!!
WE DO NOT BELIEVE a woman's testimony is worth half that of a man!!
WE DO NOT ACCEPT a man to have four wives in our country!!
WE DO NOT BELIEVE a woman should be stoned to death for the mere accusation of adultery!!
WE DO NOT FORBID our women to go out of the home alone in this nation!!
WE DO NOT REQUIRE a minimum of four witnesses for a woman to claim she has been raped!!
WE DO NOT ALLOW the mutilation of a female's sexual organs in our country!!
WE DO NOT CONDONE lying in our nation, not even for the furthering of religion!!
WE DO NOT ALLOW religion in this nation to force all to believe it or pay a tax!!

Many of the proponents of this mosque building effort claim that this is our chance to show what our nation stands for, that we stand for freedom and tolerance and that this is our opportunity to reach out and show our muslim brothers that we do not hate them.

Let me ask this question. We aren't the ones who murdered 3,000 innocent civilians on 9/11, nor are we the group who have conducted countless terrorist attacks since the 1970's on non-muslims worldwide. Why is it our duty to reach out and show muslims that we do not hate them when they have shown quite clearly that they, and their Koran's writings clearly demonstrate that they do hate, and will not tolerate us? I say if they truly are a "religion of peace" as they love to claim from one side of their mouths, then let them come forward and reach out to us!! Let them demonstrate that they will tolerate us and conform to our laws and our Constitution. Otherwise LEAVE!! Keep your infiltration concentrated on Europe. We can all witness the havoc your religion is causing in other European nations that have taken this "tolerant" approach to your religion. We do not need that trouble in America and I pray we wake up before it is too late.

  2. Wow, Paul...way to have an original thought. I've heard that talking point so many times in the past month or so that I decided to run a google search of "building ground zeros near mosques" in quotations, of course...4,540 results. Why don't you try putting a thought together on your own without stealing from the "talking point fairy". It's such an idiotic statement that it doesn't deserve a response. To draw a parallel which utilizes innocent civilians and terrorists as one in the same is at a minimum, uneducated...more accurately sick, evil, stupidity...take your slick, stolen, non-water-holding lines elsewhere. Bring your own thoughts to the debate from now on, please.

  3. 'This culture has been developed over two centuries of struggles, trials and victories by millions of men and women who have sought freedom'. 'We speak mainly ENGLISH, not Spanish, Lebanese, Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, Russian, or any other language. Therefore, if you wish to become part of our society . Learn the language!'

'Most Americans believe in God. This is not some Christian, right wing, political push, but a fact, because Christian men and women, on Christian principles, founded this nation, and this is clearly documented. It is certainly appropriate to display it on the walls of our schools. If God offends you, then I suggest you consider another part of the world as your new home, because God is part of our culture.'

'We will accept your beliefs, and will not question why. All we ask is that you accept ours, and live in harmony and peaceful enjoyment with us.'

'This is OUR COUNTRY, OUR LAND, and OUR LIFESTYLE, and we will allow you every opportunity to enjoy all this. But once you are done complaining, whining, and griping about Our Flag, Our Pledge, Our Christian beliefs, or Our Way of Life, I highly encourage you take advantage of one other great American freedom,

  5. xringat9 I won't be leaving. I will stay here and fight for my country against people like you who believe people who do not think like you should leave. I was born here, I did not come here! I accept this country and work to make it better, not worse. WE ALL HAVE THE RIGHT TO LEAVE-INCLUDING YOU!

Jennifer What are you defending yourself against?

Ron You said it in your first paragraph, the government has no authority in the matter. THAT IS ALL, end of story. You have a few talking points yourself as well. Because I share an idea does mean it has no merit. Just like you share ideas with Reagan, do they have no merit because they are unoriginal and considered stupid by many? Your agrument is that they do not tolerate us, we should not tolerate them? Correct me if I am wrong please.

  6. The good news is the same Constitution that protects Muslims' religious freedom will prevent Christians from being forced into a Sharia-friendly lifestyle. Do you honestly consider this a threat? Or do you simply disagree with his beliefs? (I do as well... as I do with most religious leaders.)

He calls for Sharia. The pope has protected child rapists. Potato/potato.

  7. Paul...the difference between me using Reagan's, or others thoughts is that I also interweave my own thoughts in with them. You posted a one line snipe, which was completely unoriginal, without any further original thought of your own. That's why I jumped on you about it. Additionally, I did explain why the snipe had no merit as well. At least in your last comment you seem to be providing your own thoughts.

As far as the government, based on the constitution, not having authority being the end of the story, it most certainly is not. Just because a person can legally do something, it doesn't make that action morally right. Yes, legally they can build the mosque, but it is a slap in the face of America if they do. Legally, the pastor in Florida can burn all the Koran's he wants to, but that does not make it morally right to do so. See, there is much more to the story than what is legally right.

My opinion is not as simple as "they do not tolerate us, so we should not tolerate them." My opinion is if they want to live in The United States of America, they are to obey the laws of The United States of America and our Constitution. It is not our duty to bend over backwards to accommodate and please the entire muslim population of the world. We are not the ones murdering innocent civilians.

The flaw in your thinking Paul is that you apparently see no difference between innocent civilians and RPG toting, IED setting, suicide-bombing terrorists. You seem to count them as one in the same and that is incredibly irresponsible.

  8. at the moment Paul, I am not being attacked but if I was being attacked would I kill you in self -defence? You can sit in the corner and piss your pants instead of fighting for what is yours, but there are others who if you attack them or murder their child they will defend themselves and their loved ones.
